Values and Vision
The Vision
‘Good People Great Learners’
Our School Vision
“Life in modern Britain is vibrant and exciting with many challenges and opportunities. It is vital that a child’s first school equips them with both a love of learning and a strong moral compass.
At Kirby Muxloe Primary School, we aim to provide a safe, inclusive, welcoming and inspiring environment for learning and personal growth. We want every child to maximise their potential in all aspects of school life and to build kind instincts that enable them to make a positive difference to their community.”
Our new school values and linked qualities:
Kindness through: Words and Actions, Gratitude, Empathy and Helpfulness
Integrity by being: Honest, Fair, Trustworthy and Ethical
Respect by: Listening, Being Courteous, Showing Humility and Following the Rules
Resilience by being: Courageous, Optimistic, Patient and Self Confident
Aspiration by being: Dedicated, Independent, Organised and Problem Solvers
Reflectiveness by being: Curious, Adaptable, Creative and Analytical
KMPS Values in Action
We live our motto and seek to inspire our children every day to be good people and great learners. We discuss our values regularly and these are displayed, along with our qualities, prominently around the school.
We have a ‘values curriculum’ which we use to teach our values, qualities and associated behaviours proactively and progressively during children’s time at KMPS. This is further supported by our assemblies that explore our qualities (and the values they link to) across the year. There is full alignment with our behaviour policy and approaches to ensure that
the rules we set clearly match our vision and values.
Our values will also be celebrated each week in our weekly awards assembly, where a good person and a great learner award will be given out by each class teacher. These will focus on the values seen that week and, in particular the linked qualities that children showed.
Future Development
Our new values launched in August 2025 and we will be developing further ways of embedding them as time goes on. Watch this space for future updates.
